The campaign is initiated by "For the Good" Foundation, Bulgaria.

The Pediatrics Department at Elin Pelin Multidisciplinary Hospital for Active Treatment helps approximately 550 children from the municipalities of Elin Pelin, Gorna Malina, and Sofia City every year. The dedicated team includes two doctors, six nurses, and four orderlies, operating at a second level of medical competency. The hospotal has actively submitted an application for the "Firefly" project to create a fully renovated and modernized pediatric ward.

We have officially launched this initiative on December 18, 2024. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Municipality of Elin Pelin, Elin Pelin hospital, and active members of the local community, the pediatric department will soon rank among the most modern hospital wards in Bulgaria. Za Dobroto (For The Good) Foundation will fund the architectural project and, together with its partners, work to raise the remaining funds and gather in-kind donations. The total project cost is BGN 465,000.

With the expert guidance of architect Magdalena Slavova, For The Good Foundation has developed a comprehensive architectural design that will completely transform the pediatric department. The renovation plan includes:

- Modernizing all patient rooms
- Renovating the intake office and treatment room with intensive care section
- Updating staff facilities
- Creating a comfortable waiting area
- Building a play corner at the heart of the department – the greatest joy for our youngest patients

Several kitchenette areas will be equipped with refrigerators, microwaves, and electric kettles to ensure comfort for patients and their caregivers. Beds will be provided for accompanying adults, and the ward will receive new blankets, pillows, and bed linens, along with window blinds and bedside lamps. The walls will feature cheerful, colorful illustrations, and the spaces will be brightened with engaging toys, creating a warm and welcoming environment for children. Both current and new long-term partners of the For The Good Foundation will participate in bringing this project to life.
